Excitement in the air as South Bend students taste first meals from new food vendor

Tarrah Westercamp is the resident dietician with Chartwells. She was pretty stoked to hear the kids liking the food.

“We want them to know that your food doesn’t have to be simple, plain to be healthy,” said Westercamp.

Aside from main entrees like General Tso’s chicken with broccoli and nachos loaded with pico de gallo, students have access to salad bars full of fruits and veggies.

“That’s one of my personal goals to is to fit as many fruits and veggies into their lives, and to help them to learn that it’s okay, you can try new things and discover some great flavors and tastes within our menu,” said Westercamp.
